what happened?

One of those-what the hell-moments. Coming down the hill from the barrel rolls when I'm piled up in a bush. I got up and looked for the cause but found nothing. Luckily I just stretched my neck and back-the ground was damp which helped. This is a first time for me-I have never done this to a wheel before.

The Magical Mystery Bus

This mobile home has been bouncing around the desert for weeks. Today it was at the bottom of the Zen Trail, last week it was on a hill above the Curly Hollow Road. I wanted to knock on the door to see if Alexander Supertramp was home.

Despite the rain, the trails on the bluff are still good. I checked the view from the top of the Zen thinking I would see some goofball dragging his bike through the mud on the cow trail below. No one was in sight. {sigh}

I caught up to some riders on the Sidewinder yesterday. Have you noticed how most riders pick up the pace when you catch up to them? I've seen guys blow themselves up trying not to let you pass. I actually had a guy leave his girlfriend to chase me up a climb after I had passed them. He couldn't keep up and at the top of the hill I looked back and saw him barfing-now that's being a little too competitive.

bloomington rim riding

A few years ago we didn't have the rim options to ride. I'm grateful for the new trails. In the past during the rainy season the green valley loop clay would prohibit riding in the dirt. I would be forced to drag out my road bike(yes, I have a road bike). I drug out my geared bike after spending the last 20hrs on the single speed. It takes my a few hours to get my legs used to it.

Things better veiwed from a distance-nuclear blast and vegas

bootleg canyon

This red rock outcropping has always caught my attention. On my first visit this was the end of the mother trail. The trail ended with tools piled were my bike sits today. I had just drug myself over 2 passes and didn't want to reverse my course. I knew the caldera trail was to my east so I rode and ran for over a mile to to the Caldera. This rock is deep,blood red and very stark looking.
